              1. Artist unify their work by using repetition geometric shapes, warm colors, and other key elements to make the picture whole. Artists can also display unity with a central theme. By finding a focus and centering it, the piece will begin to tell a story. This piece is called "Stronger Together" by Pamela Seatter. According to Pamela this mural was inspired by the infamous "Me Too" movement and her participation in the Women's march. She was astonished by the involvement of variations of people and their backgrounds. This mural uses unification in many ways. One way would be the background, the women are held together by a fabric like image. Another way would be the geometric shapes, their is an outer square, and an inner square, the triangles at the top. 2. An artist creates asymmetrical balance by having the left and right side of the piece dissimilar to each other, it more so has to do with the balance of elements according to their vis

                                                       Egyptian Art           A huge part of Egyptian civilization would be their art. It represented the nobility that transpired in Egypt. Only the royals were deemed as in important because of the status they upheld in society.The iconography in those frontal portraits represented strength and royalty. In Egyptian civilization the religious firmly believed in the after life. They would even leave artifacts with the buried nobility to have a safe passage into the after life. Anthropomorphic figures were seen a lot in Egyptian art as it expresses the connection between humans and gods.   This picture is the "Statuette of Isis and Horus". In the picture Isis has a headpiece on her head which symbolizes royalty. The blue in the picture represents fertility, and as well as the breast feeding. The representation of Horus as a baby shows the theory of rebirth. This conception was very known in Egyptian Civilization          

About me

My name is Meghan Kouassi. Born in Africa, grew up in Queens,NY. I am a musician but is majoring in psychology. I was a chorister at Grammy award winning Brooklyn Youth Chorus Academy, performed in the concert assemble. I play a little bit of the piano. I am an introvert, but with people I am most comfortable with I am outspoken, funny, and opinionated. I tend to have a stern face but am a caring person. I am family oriented, and tend to care for others. On my free time I like to read, mostly dramas, non fiction on African American history. I feel knowledge is power so the more knowledge I have about a society who is “Amerikkkanized” I’m able to protect and represent myself to the best of my ability.  I want to be able to stand up for the people who don’t have a voice, or are too feared to use it.
