Egyptian Art
         A huge part of Egyptian civilization would be their art. It represented the nobility that transpired in Egypt. Only the royals were deemed as in important because of the status they upheld in society.The iconography in those frontal portraits represented strength and royalty. In Egyptian civilization the religious firmly believed in the after life. They would even leave artifacts with the buried nobility to have a safe passage into the after life. Anthropomorphic figures were seen a lot in Egyptian art as it expresses the connection between humans and gods.

This picture is the "Statuette of Isis and Horus". In the picture Isis has a headpiece on her head which symbolizes royalty. The blue in the picture represents fertility, and as well as the breast feeding. The representation of Horus as a baby shows the theory of rebirth. This conception was very known in Egyptian Civilization

                           Greek art 

In ancient Greek human life was seen as the highest form. Thus, came with the ideology of reason. Almost all sculptures showed human life in a perfect configuration, because an understanding of human anatomy was finally achieved. Unlike Egyptian art, Greek art displayed realistic characteristics of humans. They expressed this through motion like statuettes, sculpted faces, and expression.

This art piece is called the "Marble statue of a wounded amazon." In this figurine, you can see tear marks from her left breast indicating bloodshed, her forearm is also cut off. The restless position she"s in might symbolize defeat, death or fatigue. In Ancient Greek culture statuettes were displayed more so for an individual achievements rather than portraits based on aristocracy based in Egyptian civilization.
